Danae Rachelle Collica (Tavenner)

Danae Rachelle Collica, age 35, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on April 8, 2026. She was born on October 2, 1990, in Derry, New Hampshire, to Randy and Nanci Collica. She graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH in 2009 and then earned her bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Colorado State University in 2013. She was currently attending Frederick Community College pursuing a degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. As a child, she was actively involved in dance and competitive gymnastics. While in High School, she was a founding member of the "Just Like Us" club - a program that matched students with peers with developmental disabilities in social settings. She was also active in Venture Crew - a high adventure scouting group that spent time living on a sail boat and learning to sail in the Bahamas and Key West. She loved traveling; having taken trips to Paris and Scotland and even spent a semester abroad in Thailand during her time in college. She also had a passion for swing dancing that she developed while in college when she became a part of the CSU Swing Dance Society. She enjoyed reading, the arts, being outdoors, and she made beautiful watercolor painted postcards. Her two sons were the light of her life and she loved sharing her passions for reading and exploring the world with them. Danae was a light in this world and she is greatly missed by many. She is survived by her sons: Henry & Charlie Tavenner. Parents: Randy & Nanci Collica. Sister: Janelle Carter and her husband Michael and their children: Hudson & Henley Carter. Brother: Brian Collica and his wife Connie and their son: Sebastian Collica. Brother: James Collica, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends. A celebration of life will be held at The Well Church located at 2800 E. Danforth Rd. Edmond, Oklahoma 73012 on May 23, 2026 at 11:30am. Information related to donations in memory of Danae will be announced at a later date.
