Tammie Williams Bates, age 68, of Germantown, Maryland, unexpectedly passed away on March 11, 2026.
Born on December 24, 1957, Tammie was the daughter of the late Paul Harold Williams and Rosa Lee (Buster) Williams.
She lived in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she worked and resided for most of her adult life.
Throughout her career, Tammie worked as a manager and was known as a dedicated leader and mentor to many of her employees. She took great pride in helping guide and support those she worked with, and over the years formed lasting relationships with her team. Her employees cared for her deeply and respected her not only as a manager, but as someone who truly looked out for them. Tammie retired in 2024 after many years of hard work and commitment.
Tammie had a special love for Minnie Mouse, collecting little mouse decorations, and anything in her favorite color, purple.
Tammie is survived by her loving husband, Brian Bates; Two stepchildren, Kelsey Bates (Dustin) and Trevor Bates; and six grandchildren whom she loved deeply - Kyle, Laykin, Aiden, Nolan, Halle, and BronLee. She is also survived by her brother, Alan Williams, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Criag Williams, and her aunt, Jane Munsey.
The family will honor Tammie's wishes for cremation and will lay her to rest with her late family members in Fayetteville, West Virginia. A memorial service at the burial site will be announced at a later date.
In honor of Tammie, the family suggests donations be made to a local animal shelter, where she adopted two of her three four-legged companions- DeeDee, Ruffles, and Minnie.
