Theresa Kranyak

Theresa Russo Kranyak, 84, of Fallston, Maryland, passed away on April 3, 2026.  She was the daughter of the late Mary and Angelo Russo of Darien, CT; and the wife of the late Donald Kranyak of Fallston, Maryland, formerly of Stamford, CT.  Together they shared a 30-year marriage.

 

A graduate of Darien High School, Class of 1959, Theresa served her community as Deputy Tax Collector for the Town of Darien for many years.  Following her retirement, she moved to Maryland to be near her daughter and granddaughters, a decision that brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

 

Theresa was active in her community and cherished the many friendships she formed.  She had a passion for sports and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens.  Above all, she found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family.

 

Theresa is survived by her devoted children, Debra Frate Requa and Michael Frate; her cherished grandchildren, Alison Requa Urik and Amanda Requa; her sister, Grace Russo Hanafee; and her brother, Anthony Russo.

 

Theresa was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose warmth touched everyone who knew her.  She will be remembered for her kind heart and endless love for her family.  She will be deeply missed by those who love her.
