Anthony Gale Lord

Anthony Gale Lord (Tony) 82 years old of Germantown, Maryland, passed away on August 19, 2026, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland. Born on June 16, 1944, in Lawton, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Elzie Solmon Lord and Celesstie Gilmore Lord. Anthony enlisted in the United States Army in 1969, served one year in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1975. He went on to dedicate more than 20 years to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an expert drug investigator and senior compliance officer. He later served as president of Lord Consulting Inc., his pharmaceutical consulting firm in Germantown. He was highly respected at the FDA and in the pharmaceutical industry for his expertise in drug manufacturing and product quality. He is survived by his wife, Ada Irizarry; his children, Tanya and Robert Lord and wife Jenni; his grandchildren, Hazel, Emerson, Fergus, Hattie, Elzie, and Judah; his siblings, Donald Lord and wife Pam, and sister Barbara Rice, and sister- in law- Sandy Lord, and many nephews and nieces through extended family. He was preceded in death by his siblings David, Joanne, and Donna Mae Lord. Tony loved trees, birds, cats, and helping others. You can honor his memory by planting a tree, feeding wild birds, helping a stray cat, or giving money to a good cause you care about. Further arrangements with Arlington National Cemetery are pending and will be announced by the family.
