Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

                                                  Raymond Lee Bunner II

                                          March 18, 1981 – September 23, 2026

Raymond Lee Bunner II passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, leadership, and deep love for his family and friends. Known as Ray or Raymond to colleagues and friends, and affectionately called Raymey or Raym by his family, he was a caring, generous, and steadfast presence throughout his life.   Ray was born on March 18, 1981, at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland, to Joyce Catherine and Raymond Lee Bunner Sr. From an early age, Ray was known for his kindhearted nature and willingness to share with others. He excelled academically and formed lifelong friendships easily wherever he went.   A passionate athlete, Ray developed a lifelong love for ice skating and hockey. Coached by his stepfather, the late Mike Hugunin, Ray played through his youth and into high school, helping Bowie High School capture a State Championship. After high school, Ray channeled his passion into mentorship, serving for six years as a travel hockey coach for his younger brother Nathan. His natural patience, skill, and encouraging spirit made him an exceptional coach and mentor to many young players.   Professionally, Ray enjoyed a successful career in management, training, and team development. Most recently, he worked with Power Solutions, a role in which he took immense pride and found great joy in guiding and mentoring his team.   Above all, Ray was devoted to his family. He shared a close bond with his four parents—Joyce Catherine, Raymond Sr., his stepmother Lynne, and his stepfather Mike—as well as his siblings Timothy, Michael, Nathan, and Melissa. In his mother's final days, Ray stepped up with immense love and dedication to care for her until her passing on September 23rd.   He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Catherine, and his stepfather, Mike Hugunin. He is survived by his father, Raymond Lee Bunner Sr., and stepmother, Lynne; his brothers, Patrick, Timothy, Michael, and Nathan; his sisters, Kelly and Melissa; and a community of extended family, friends, players, and colleagues whose lives he touched profoundly.   Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Ray’s life, honoring his generosity, warmth, and the lasting happiness he brought into the world.
