Leilani Quinn Pearson

Leilani Quinn Pearson, CPA, of Bethesda, MD, passed away on April 29, 2026, after a brief illness.

 

Born in San Francisco in 1937, Leilani (Lani) grew up in California and often reminisced about roller skating down the streets of San Francisco.

 

A dedicated accounting and tax professional, Lani built a respected career spanning more than three decades. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Los Angeles and later received a Master of Science in Accounting from American University and quickly passed the CPA exam after graduating.

 

After gaining broad experience in tax preparation with several small accounting firms in the Washington, DC area, Lani started with Marriott International in 1993 and worked there until her retirement in 2008. Over the years, she advanced from Senior Tax Specialist to Assistant Tax Manager and Tax Manager. Her expertise, diligence, and professionalism earned the respect of colleagues throughout her career.

 

She had a passion for travel and adventure, visiting six of the world’s seven continents and embracing the opportunity to experience different cultures and places throughout her lifetime. An avid gardener, Lani found peace and happiness nurturing flowers and plants. She also loved relaxing in the warm waters of the Caribbean, which she visited often with her children and grandchildren. Lani was also a talented knitter, quilter, needleworker, and seamstress.

 

Her marriage to Charles Pearson ended in divorce. Lani was a mother and grandmother and cherished spending time with her family. She is survived by her three children, Ethan (Tracy) Pearson, Noelle (John) Lynch, and Morgan Pearson, and six grandchildren.
